JNB Diversified Food Industries (JNBDFI) is a sole proprietor business based in Tupi, South Cotabato that produces diverse Nutraceutical Products exclusively made through all-natural processes. It is popular with its signature product, Xantonics, a fermented product made from Mangosteen, Papaya, Guyabano, and Banana. Awarded as Top grosser in various trade exhibits, JNBDFI envisions to be one of the top food processors in the country.
It  This product combines the four nutritious fruits such as mangosteen, guyabano, papaya, and banana. Compared to the other supplemental products being offered in the market, Xantonic had undergone an “all-natural” process. It has been fermented for five years, has never been subjected to high heat, and there’s no water or other chemicals added in it.

Mommy Jong only started developing the market in 2008. An initial of 7 bottles were given to close friends and relatives with highblood and diabetes. And to their delight all of them got better. With the discovery of the product’s potential, she slowly expanded her production plant to 4 dryers that can hold 12,000 bottles approximately. With 5 years of fermentation, it was advised to only enter the market when she is in full-scale operation.

In 2010, JNBDFI attended its first trade exhibit at Central Bank in Davao City where all 98 bottles were sold almost immediately. Same thing happened in SM Cebu exhibit emptying even their warehouse back in Tupi. Starting that year, Xantonics joined 4 exhibits per annum in the nationwide exhibits sponsored by the Department of Agriculture and Department of Trade and Industry.  Mommy Jong also won the Regional Gawad Saka for Agrientrepreneurship that year.

JNBDFI continually improved its production management by employing quality management systems assuring that the product’s quality is never compromised. Better bottles and packaging are tremendously improved.  And in 2013, after many years of developing the product the Matriarch eventually passed on the baton of managing the business to Arriane Sarah Duldoco-Ho, her youngest daughter.

Arianne at that time, was only 23 years old. With a degree of AB Mass Communications, she revamp the marketing strategy of the JBNDFI. The current marketing system of relying on word of mouth was reinforced with aggressive marketing campaign and social media presence. True enough, in 2015, Xantonic became the top grosser product in the first Treasures of SOX held at SM City GenSan. Winning that award opened windows of opportunities for the newcomer. For their amazing feat they were offered a slot at the SM Mall and they gladly obliged by using what they have earned during the exhibit. Their first kiosk opened last
December 17, 2015. After two years, Arianne put up additional 2 kiosks at KCC Mall of GenSan and SM Ecoland, and Gmall Grand Gaisano in Davao City.

With Senior Citizens and health conscious segment as her target market she made it sure that in opening branches they always get the best spots. She focused on locations near groceries usually at the ground floor to make it more convenient for her clients. She also employed product development strategy introducing various healthy products such as Coffee, Honey, Coco sugar, and a wide product line of natural beauty products. Being involved in Greenpeace initiatives all raw materials are naturally produced and sourced out from local farmers and processors.

Committed in maintaining the quality of their products. In 2016, the DTI accredited JNBFI for improving productivity thru 5S of Good housekeeping. And the following year it became Halal certified.

The entrepreneurial skills of Arianne cannot be denied when JNBDFI won yet again the Top Grosser award of the Treasures of SOX held in Manila and Mindanao Trade Expo. In 2017 and above all, bagging the Top Grosser in 2018 National Food Fair - topping all food processors in the country. With effective marketing style Xantonic variants of 4-in-1 (papaya, guyabano, mangosteen, banana), 3-in-1 (without mangosteen), and the Papaya Cider Vinegar turned out to be the MUST-HAVES during Expo. and only one of the two OTOP products from Region 12.

With no signs of slowing down. JNBDFI plans to open more branches in Davao city, particularly in Abreeza, SM Lanang and Victoria Mall, as well as SM North Edsa in manila.

Being an epitome of a successful agricultural entrepreneur, Arianne was often invited as speaker in several entrepreneurial fora both in television (PTV-4) and radio (DZRH). As part of her advocacy, she even went to far flung communities giving free assistance and Xantonic products to the poorest of the poor. Moreover, she has extended helped during calamities, donated reading centers in communities and instrumental in the donation of land area that now help 5,000 highschool students of Tupi National High School.

Today, from what started as an idea of turning waste into money, JNBDFI now has 5 branches with 3 soon to open in Luzon. From the vision of one person, the agrienterprise grew as a medium enterprise with 32 employees (26 in processing and 6 in marketing). And from the initial 7 bottles it already expanded to hundred thousands of bottles.

Arianne at 29 years old now with her entrepreneurial prowess wanted to help even more people.

Jawharia Nawa Bajunaid or Mommy Jong is one of the most interesting social entrepreneurs I have met inRegion 12. Her business idea is based on her principle of not wasting food.
“My parents have taught me not to waste the blessings I receive,” says Mommy Jong. “I would reap negative karma if I do so.”
As a papaya grower living in Tupi, South Cotabato, she has thought that all the excess fruits harvested byDole Phil could be made into a product that would be beneficial to other people. From this food waste, the idea of creating Xantonic (JNB Diversified Food Industries) was born.
At first, her sons and daughters discouraged Mommy Jong to execute her idea. For them, it’s a waste of time and energy.
“Some people back then thought that my idea was crazy. Eventually though, I showed them that it was feasible.”
Maybe, what made her idea a success was her passion in what she does. As she describes herself, she is not a businesswoman but a farmer with a heart for others.
“I’m also blessed that all raw materials are readily available in Tupi. My only other capital investments are time, passion, interest, respect to God, and love of people.”

Xantonic

So, in 2000, she started experimenting and processing the fruits. She conducted research, asked some technical assistance from the Department of Trade Industry (DTI), and sought advice from her fellow entrepreneurs. The product of her hard work, of course, is Xantonic.
Xantonic is made out of the juices of papaya, banana, mangosteen, and guyabano. The final mixture has been able to preserve the nutritional properties and enzymes of the fruits through a natural fermentation process. It has not been subjected to high-heat processes, like distillation, sterilization, and pasteurization. It has probiotic bacteria (Acetobacter) which kill infection-causing germs. It has NO chemical or preservatives added.

Xantonic

Mommy Jong’s customers attest to the potency of Xantonic. Based on sales, the most popular among the varieties are Xantonic 4-in-1 (papaya, guyabano, mangosteen, banana), 3-in-1 (without mangosteen), and the Papaya Cider Vinegar.
“I follow a common process in fermenting well. One can easily research it on the internet. This business requires though common sense, which is now becoming uncommon.”
She is aware that the Apple Cider Vinegar is popular in the Philippines as another “miracle drink”. But she is confident that Xantonic can also win the hearts of the Filipinos since it’s a Filipino brand. It’s “unconventional business” as she said.
As a bank employee before, she understands that most parents inculcate to their children the employment mindset, not entrepreneurial one.
“Most parents groomed their children to become employed all their lives. Furthermore, most Filipinos has this mindset that our country has no hope. That we depend or blame everything to the government. We should learn to be independent and start relying on ourselves. There’s always a way to live better lives.”

Xantonic

Mommy Jong’s product has received numerous recognitions including the 2010 and 2011 Department of Agriculture’s Gawad Saka Awardee and 2017 Department of Trade and Industry’s Treasures of SOXTop Grosser and Mindanao Trade Expo Top Grosser.
Mommy Jong is turning 70 this year. She slowly passing this business to her younger daughter, Aiyah Arianne Duldoco-Ho.
“I always emphasized to my other sons and daughter that this business is for Arianne. It’s my legacy and I want Arianne to nurture it. I always say to her that don’t treat this business as a mere business. Treat it as your sister.”
She encourages the youth to pursue their entrepreneurial dreams. But she also emphasized the importance of passion and good values to the young ones.
“Don’t put your energy into the things that you’re not passionate about. You should also cater the needs of the people first, not your own.”
